My name is Taylor Connelly

Deciding what to do for my senior thesis felt like a question that daunted over my entire college career. When I finally hit gold junior year it felt like an obvious choice. Books have always been a huge part of my life. As a kid I devoured them one after another and as a journalist the written word is my most treasured tool.

This project allowed me to combine my love for books with my love for journalistic storytelling. I wanted to bring attention to the epidemic of book bans across the country. I wanted to bring attention to the First Amendment violations these book bans created. I wanted to share whatever I could learn to help the next person who was interested in banned books.

As I graduate college I am happy to close my four years with a project that I can be truly proud of. To whomever may be reading this, I hope that you enjoy reading my work and that you learn something you may not have known before. I know I did.
